Little Dresses for HaitiOn Saturday, April 29 the ladies of Gardenside came together for a wonderful cause! They wanted to give a gift to little girls in Haiti. We had a wonderful day serving together and encourage you to pray for each child that will receive one of these dresses. Thanks to all who came and gave up their day to serve others! So far, GCC has made 152 dresses for little girls in Haiti.

Lori Cairell has been a member of Gardenside since she was a child. She began serving as Administrative Assistant in 2006. She and her husband Bobby have been married for almost 9 years. She loves the people at Gardenside and considers her work not to be a job but a ministry.Lori loves anything that involves music. She loves to sing and play guitar. Family is very important to her and she enjoys hanging out with her nieces and nephews.

Dean Brewer and his wife Lynda have been married for 42 years and have two children and three grandchildren. Dean has served as an elder and is currently the visitation minister at Gardenside.Dean also retired from Frito-Lay in 2006 with 31 years of service. He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bobby Cairell began serving as the Associate Minister at GCC in October of 2011. Bobby has been a youth minister, associate camp director, preacher and an elementary school teacher. He is excited to be serving on staff at his home church.Bobby and his wife, Lori, have been married for 9 years. They enjoy traveling (viewing covered bridges), playing music together, cooking for people, and spending time with family and friends.In his free time, Bobby enjoys fishing, playing golf, watching TV, reading and photography. He is also a huge UK basketball fan.
Shannon Hatfield began serving at Gardenside Christian Church on October 28, 2008. She is married to Kevin and they have two amazing children, Case (11) and Elizabeth (9). As a family they enjoy family movie nights, watching football and anytime spent together. Shannon loves being a Children's Director! She is passionate about teaching the children the great love of their Lord and Savior. Shannon also is very passionate about reaching the children in the community and teaching the children of Gardenside how to reach out to others.
Darin Pratt was raised in a preacher’s home in central Ohio. Upon graduation from high school, he attended Cincinnati Christian University, where he received a BA in Christian Ministries (1991), and an MA in Theology (1993). While in college, Darin held a weekend youth ministry with the Discover Christian Church in Dublin, Ohio.Darin's first ministry was with the Milford Church of Christ in Centerburg, Ohio, where he served for 5 years. Next, he served at Eastland Christian Church in Columbus, Ohio for 14 years. Darin began his ministry here at Gardenside Christian Church on January 1, 2012.Darin’s wife Holly grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended the Cincinnati Christian University where she received an Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science. She worked in the Life Insurance industry for 12 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom.Darin and Holly have been married for 19 years and have two wonderful children, Hannah (7) and Austin (5). Darin enjoys sports, reading, traveling, having fun with the family, and rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Holly enjoys watching movies, taking adventures with the kids, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Brian Hale joined the Gardenside staff in January of 2004. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida Christian College. Brian and his wife, Nikki, have been married 15 years and have two amazing sons, Trenton and Tanner. Their family enjoys trips to the beach as well as fun filled vacations at Disney world. Brian likes to cheer on his Indiana hoosiers and also enjoys fishing in his spare time.Brian is passionate about Youth Ministry and loves seeing students lives changed for God. Brian's prayer is that students will become followers of Jesus and live a life that glorifies God in all things.
Sisters in Service (SiS)Sisters in Service invites women to join in our Ministry of Serving those in our community as well as our Christian Family. Enjoy Christian Study, Help for those in need, Caring and Sharing for others as well as fun and fellowship with each other.Women's Circles:*Friendship Circle: We meet for fellowship, business, and devotion on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in homes of our circle members. We have ongoing service projects in the community and in our church.*Dorcas Circle: We are women servants to individuals and missions in need. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month in homes of our circle members. In addition to our annual mission projects, we sponsor a special, private benevolent need.*Joy Circle: J Jesus First, O Others Second, Y Yourself Last. This is the meaning of JOY and the objective of our circle. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Conference Room at Gardenside. Below you will find a list of the many service opportunities available on a monthly basis and others that are ongoing. Many Sunday School groups and Women's Circles have monthly projects that they are involved with as well.Monthly OpportunitiesMaking Sandwiches for the Hope Mobile:Come help make Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches for the Hope Mobile in Lexington. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month in the kitchen of our Family Life Center at 6 p.m. We will not meet to do this during the months of June, July, and August but will resume in September.Worship Service at Lexington Country Place Nursing Home:Gardenside provides a monthly worship service for residents at the Lexington Country Place Nursing Home on the second Sunday of every month. Do you want to give and receive a blessing? Meet us there at 2:30 p.m. and be blessed!Feeding the Homeless at Phoenix Park:The Middle & High School students of Gardenside help cook and serve a meal on the third Sunday of every month at Phoenix Park. Our goal is to provide a warm meal and a friendly face. Join us as we try to make a difference in our community.Other OpportunitiesJames Lane Allen Elementary:We have made it our goal to "adopt" James Lane Allen Elementary. There are many opportunities to make a difference there. Some include the "Read with a Kid" program which only requires 20 minutes each week, Landscaping, Volunteering in the Library and more. Please contact Shannon Hatfield for more information about opportunities to serve.Knitting Hats & Scarves for the Homeless of Lexington:During the winter months hats and scarves are passed out by our youth once a month at Phoenix Park. They feed about 100-125 people. This means we are in need of an endless amount of hats/scarves. Any pattern is acceptable as long as it is big enough for a man and we do need some for women. Benevolence Ministry:Our benevolence ministry collects for many different ministries throughout the year including God's Pantry, The Lexington Rescue Mission, The Hospitality House, Angel Tree and more.
SeniorsOpportunities to serve Christ by serving others in the church, as well as in the community. Bible Study for Senior Adults Sunday School, 10 a.m.(Willing Workers, Christian Crusaders)Wonderful Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. (September-May in the Conference Room) Social/FellowshipOpportunities to develop positive and fulfilling relationships.-The Ramblers meet monthly for fellowship & encouragement.-Day trips and overnight excursions are scheduled through the year.Service Groups -Volunteers clean the facilites through the VIP program.-The Caring and Sharing Ministry provides food for those who have lost loved ones and homebound needs of members.
