Janie and Dennis returned "home" to Lexington, Kentucky and Gardenside Christian Church in August 2002. Janie grew up in Lexington attending Gardenside with her parents Tom and Eunice Williams and brother Steve. She graduated from Lafayette High School and the University of Kentucky. Dennis is also a Kentucky native and was raised in Lewis county. He is a graduate of Tollesboro High School and the University of Kentucky. Janie and Dennis met at Gardenside Christian Church and were married there on December 12, 1987.
The Truesdells' have two children, Matt and Kaylee. Matt will begin Dunbar High School in the fall of 2004 and Kaylee is at Beaumont Middle School. They are both involved in the youth programs at Gardenside. In addition, Matt plays basketball and is a big Wildcat fan. Kaylee plays the clarinet and dances competitively.Janie and Dennis lived in three different states before returning to the "Promised Land". They served in Masfield, Ohio at the McElroy Church of Christ for two and a half years helping wherever needed in the youth program. In 1990, they moved to High Point, NC and joined the First Church of Christ. Dennis served as elder and the couple was active in many different phases of the church's ministry. The summer of 2000 found the Truesdells' relocating to Oakdale, PA (just outside of Pittsburgh) and joining the church family of West Hills Christian Church. While there, they worked in the youth and drama ministries. After 2 years in Pennsylvania, Dennis was offered a transfer to Lexington, Kentucky and the family relocated here in the summer of 2002.Janie and Dennis are blessed by the opportunity to work at Gardenside. They have a heart towards youth and hope to continue to be used by God in their ministry here.
